Georgia Rain! Ocean Mist is nice, Peaceful Sunset. Ryver Rainbow, Peaceful Meadow, Island Oasis, Lavender Meadow, Gertrude, Melony, Star. Tangerine Dream…………….AHHHHHHH THEY ARE SOOOO SOOTHING!

  • Alissa E:

those are all very random names.. i have noen thats not on teh list

    Alessa.

    i think its so pretty

or ever bridgette (but i acrtually think hollister is a cute name)

  • infernal_seamonkey:

Unicorns. You didn’t mention unicorns :(

  • ?Danielle?:

    Hannah
    Alyssa
    Cassidy
    Hailey
    Brooklyn
    Kira

Like I said before. Pumpkin, Seed, Sunshine, Honey… all those type names are just stupid.

  • newcamper:

Why would you do that (ANY of those…) to this poor child? If you name the baby Understanding you and your sister will the the only ones who understand why. Hollidais Peace? Why do you have to try so hard?

  • Butternut:

I like Carmel, Dew, Ryver, Ember Rose and ilia Raye best, they are unique names and have a nice sound to them. I think you should deffinately pick one of those :)

  • bibby6914:

your whole family must be on drugs Alena

  • steffi:

I think she should think about her child she is the one that has to go through school with this name and stop being selfish.

  • Dinosaur:

how bout you combine some of the names? like MElancholy RIver or PEaceful Window Tangerine Dream or Pumpkin Seed. THose are pretty hot.

  • Sunshine:

Good Lord, stay with Hollister. The rest are terrible

  • Stephanie:

WOW! I hope your kidding with some of those. Ryver could be cute but she would have to have high self-esteem to pull off some of the other ones. When choosing a name always remember it may be cute for a baby but imagine the name in a professional world. I couldn’t see a Doctor, Lawyer or even a President named Pumpkin or Honey. (Stripper maybe!)

  • glo_river:

If I HAD to pick from your list, I would pick Star

These aren’t on your list, but if you want to go with jewels:

    Esmeralda (Emerald)
    Ruby

And as far as the environment goes

Marisol (which means ocean and sun)

Estrella (sounds like estraya – means star)

  • sneakysteph22:

UMMMMMM NONE!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE NAMES ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Petcreatures78:

You can steal my name. It’s Marja (Mar yah). It’s Swedish for Sadness of the Sea. Out of the ones listen I would choose Ryver, Ember, or Georgia. Please keep in mind children can be cruel when you’re choosing the name.

  • intelligent_friendlistener:

Sorry, I’d say after a perusal of that list – no changes are allowed at this time. A mother’s first instinct is most always correct when naming her baby so change should be a very very rare and extreme situation. Maybe she has post partum depression if she is considering change and needs expert counseling. She should never change a baby’s name because anyone else does not like it.

  • haley1982:

OR how about Snow White, Cinderella, Fiona, Tinkerbell ooor even Mermaidia!

  • LemonTea:

Good Lord!!! What on Earth is anyone thinking? With the exception of "Gertrude" (the name of a family member I never met because she died of diptheria in – like – 1915) none of the names you gave are names. At least "Hollister" would make someone think there’s some significance to the name, such as it may be a family name of some sort.

The words you gave as possible names are more like the names someone would give a pet. Why would anyone want to give their little girl any name that would make her feel as if she got a pet’s name?

When I had my daughter and gave her a classic name that is elegant, particularly when added with her pretty middle name, some minister associated with the hospital came in and said "What a beautiful name. Its elegant. These days so few little girls are given elegant names."

I wanted my daughter to have a pretty, elegant, and classic name that would serve her well, whether she was five years old and in kindergarten or sixty years old and the head of a company.

People should respect their children enough to give them names that won’t get them made fun of and that won’t embarrass them when they’re sixty years old. Adults shouldn’t use the opportunity to give a name to another human being as a way to show how "cool" and "unique" they are.

Get a book of baby names and select a pretty one or a classic (or classy one). Otherwise, the baby is better off with Hollister (and she could be called "Holly").

  • Kait O:

And with these interesting hippie names she named it HOLLISTER?? The weird smelling prep outlet? Whoa……..craziness.

All right. Remember your middle and high school experience (but mainly middle school; JH=mature enough to understand rude jokes but not mature enough to understand feelings). Would you want to be named some weird name in that enviroment?

Other than that, go with what you think is best. I personally like the Ryver and River, Blue, Feather, freedom, Gertrude, Oasis, Aquamarine, Liberty and Topaz. Possibly Sapphire. But try and stay away from the double first name, except Ember Rose is pretty, but It can be hard to write on a paper.

  • Emily O:

I’m a hardcore hippie straight out of the gathering and I STILL think this is the worst list of names I’ve ever heard! Opal’s not bad, but Hollister’s probably the best out of all of these.
We have a guy in my state who’s a big corporate spokesperson and whose always being quoted in the newspaper. He’s a real straight, intellectual working man who wears a suit, but his mom was the crunchy midwife who delivered me! What’s she name him? Yellow Light. Yep. Terrible.

  • penguins:

    What about ELLA Or Hannah

  • hco_meredith:

Personally I’d just go with a pretty name that was more normal, but from your list I’d have to go with Melody, Aquamarine, or Georgia Rain. Dont let her keep the kid’s name as Hollister does she know thats a super-popular store and that would totally confuse everyone? Like, hi im hollister?!?

  • maani:

yeah, hollister azul is not such a hot idea.

melony is the only normal name on there which is quite pretty. i’m sorry but the rest of the names MADE to have the kid made fun of.

    more suggestions:

    Ruby
    Heidi
    Evelyn (nickname: evie)
    Evie (pronounced eve-ee)
Maanika (pronounced Monica) meaning ruby (my own name)
Lucy or Lucille, meaning bringer of light
    Lacey or Lacy
    Estrella (pronounced estraya)
    Ava
    Lola
    Scarlet
    Brooke
    Victoria
    Desiree
    Charlotte
    Renee
    Anya
    Anika (pronounced Uneeka or An-i-ca)
    Berlin

and its best not to name your children something from the top 50 list because then people at school will end up calling them Emma B. or Jacob F. (not that they are bad names. they are quite nice in fact)

congrats! let me know what you name her!

  • megs:
